For court payments or questions on how

Drive-Thru
Service:
For business that is unable to be completed
online or over the phone, a temporary drive-thru window is available on the
south side of the Family and Civil Courthouse. The window will be open
8:30 am to 4:30 pm, normal work days.
Matters that take an extended period of time may not be able to done at the drive-thru, and an appointment for counter service will be required.
An after-hours drop box is also available next to the drive-thru window for drop-offs.
Counter Service:
Counter Service is available by appointment only in the
Official Records, Civil, Criminal, Traffic, and Research Departments. The Finance and Accounting and Offsite Records Departments remain closed to the
public.

Please be aware, pursuant to 8th Circuit
Administrative Order 11.32, all individuals are required to wear a face
covering which covers the nose and mouth at all times while in the courthouse
or provide medical documentation authorizing exemption due to a verifiable
medical condition.
Recording:

The Official Records counter is now open to the public, but
on an appointment basis only. To make an appointment please call 352-374-3625.
Documents may also be dropped off for recording with payment
and a self-addressed and stamped envelope at the drive-thru or drop-box next to
the drive-thru window, but immediate recording will not be performed. The
recording will be done within one (1) business day, and the originals returned
in the mail.
Copy
Requests:
Requests for copies or certified
copies of any records may be emailed to clerk@alachuaclerk.org.
Marriages:
We will continue to process marriage
license applications, but they will be done on an appointment basis. To make an
appointment please call 352-374-3623.
We are currently accepting appointments for wedding ceremonies at the courthouse. The wedding ceremony will take place outside, in front of the courthouse (weather permitting). The number of guests that are permitted to attend is seven (7), and all social distancing and face covering guidelines must be followed. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will take place inside the courthouse lobby, and the number of guests will be limited to two (2). Please call 352-374-3623 to schedule an appointment.
Passports:
We have resumed passport services on an appointment basis. You may now call to set an appointment for passport application processing and picture taking. Please call 352-374-3625 to schedule an appointment.
The U.S. State Department has issued an advisory stating the processing of passport applications will be significantly slowed, and for applicants to expect significant delays. Futhermore, the U.S. State Department is not offering expedited services.

Jury
Service:
Jury trials are scheduled to resume beginning October 5, 2020.
Enhanced health-safety procedures and a modified juror experience will be in place. Included with the summons is additional information regarding safety precautions and a new COVID-19 specific juror excusal request form.

Deed Auctions:

Office Safety:
Partitions, enhanced cleaning, and safety procedures have been put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 at the Clerk’s Office. When conducting business with the office, all guidelines regarding social distancing and face covering need to be followed.
