​​​​Fair Housing & Human Rights Board

​The Human Rights Board​ reviews the Director's actions and recommendations on all discrimination complaints for the enforcement of Chapter 111 of the Alachua County Code​, which includes the Human Rights and the Fair Housing Ordinances. In coordination with the Director, the Board takes other informational, educational, or persuasive actions to implement the purpose of Chapter 111.

The board shall be composed of seven members plus one alternate member appointed by the board of county commissioners. The membership shall consist, whenever possible, of the following: a member of the Alachua County (Citizen) Disability Advisory Committee, an attorney eligible to practice in the State of Florida, a residential rental manager, a representative of a lending institution, and four citizens-at-large. Membership shall be representative of the county's population and, whenever possible, should reflect racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, as well as geographic, economic, and sexual considerations.
