  • Landfill Gas-to-Energy

    ​The project is designed to convert landfill gas (LFG) currently produced and collected at the landfill site to electricity.

    Electricity from landfill gas is considered "green" energy. An agreement was reached between the County and Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), who will market the electricity​.


  • Vehicle Maintenance Facility

    Vehicle Maintenance FacilityManaged construction of vehicle maintenance facility at Leveda Brown Environmental Park to decrease maintenance cost for equipment operated at the Environmental Park.


  • Leveda Brown Environmental Park

    Oversaw construction of the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and the Recycled Materials Processing Facility (RMPF) to increase efficiency and capacity of processing recyclables.


  • SWANA Award

    Won 1st place Design Award from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) for Transfer Station.


  • Leachate Recirculation at SW Landfill

    Lechate recirculationA bioreactor (view diagram) promotes rapid decay of wastes in an anerobic environment.

    This process will decrease the costs of leachate treatment and disposal. This project is currently in the process of drafting a permit modification.​​
