County Manager's Message

Dear Alachua County Residents:

We invite you to participate in the 2013 Alachua County ACCESS program.  The Alachua County Civic Education SerieS (ACCESS) program is your ticket to go behind-the-scenes within Alachua County government.

Participants receive detailed information about the operations of county departments, special districts, and Constitutional Officers.  The sessions include presentations, handouts, tours, hands-on activities and question and answer periods.  This free program spans seven weeks (1/2 day each Monday) with the goal of engaging and informing our citizens.

We hope you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the complex nature of providing local government services to our wide array of stakeholder.  Learn how your tax dollars are allocated, meet the men and women who serve the County, and become informed about how national and state trends impact local government programs and issues.

ACCESS will provide valuable information whether you are already civically active or new to government involvement.  Please consider attending these sessions, referring a friend, or supporting attendance by your employees.

Hope to see you all in the 2013 ACCESS classes.

In public service,Richard Drummond
