Metamorphosis is a long-term, community-based, residential treatment program for adults with chronic substance dependence; many clients also have a co-occurring mental health disorder. The program is 6-12 months in residential treatment.  Length of treatment is based on an individualized treatment plan and progression towards change. Clients may then transition to transitional housing, and pending availability, clients may remain in transitional housing upon graduating the program.  This can be a requirement to assist in their transition into the community. Those who graduate also have unlimited aftercare services which is recommended for a minimum of one year following residential treatment.

Metamorphosis is a Therapeutic Community that offers a wide array of therapeutic interventions and activities.  The program offers individual, group, and family counseling in a structured, therapeutic setting. Treatment is divided into several phases, which progress gradually toward re-entering the community. Therapy and treatment planning is provided by trained clinicians and also includes recovery based groups, anger management, parenting, communication building, financial skills, and independent living skills. Family Group is offered weekly for the client’s support system to better understand addiction and recovery.  Family or Couple’s Counseling is also offered.  Groups are offered approximately three times per day and individual therapy is based on client needs.  Metamorphosis is not a 12 step program, however, NA and AA do provide meetings weekly at the facility.
After approximately four to five months, the client is expected to obtain employment while still living at the facility and continuing with treatment. Individuals work to become productive, drug-free members of society by obtaining and maintaining employment, participating in self-help support groups and acquiring safe and affordable housing. Following the residential treatment component, clients may participate in the transitional housing component if housing or community re-entry is an issue. Aftercare services are available to all graduates of the residential program for an unlimited time.
