The Department of Facilities Management's mission is to provide safe, clean, productive, and energy-efficient facilities for Alachua County Staff, constitutional offices, and all citizens. We are committed to ensuring these spaces are well-maintained and sustainable, supporting the county's operations while promoting long-term efficiency and environmental stewardship.

Construction & Maintenance


​Our team excels in designing and constructing green, sustainable buildings to be used for years to come. We employ modern, energy efficient systems to deliver critical services such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, with less impact on the environment. Our expert maintenance staff keep Alachua County’s 55+ buildings running year-round by installing and maintaining these systems to preserve efficiency and reduce spending overhead.

Custodial & Grounds

We strive to create clean, healthy conditions in all Alachua County’s buildings. Our custodial staff meticulously clean work areas, restroom, and other public spaces each day to provide a sanitized, spotless environment. Meanwhile, our grounds staff maintain the grass, foliage, and pathways to maintain safety and cleanliness around the exterior of Alachua County properties.
