Art Walk for the Animals Event

Alachua County Animal Services is hosting an Art Walk for the Animals on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Animal Services Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville).  W.W. Irby Elementary School first and second grade students completed portraits of shelter cats and dogs in the style of artist Dean Russo. Color copies of their finished artwork will be on display at Animal Services all day. All adopters will receive a free color copy portrait of a cat or dog, and light refreshments will be served.

“The students created beautiful portraits of our animals to highlight their colorful personalities and help them find homes,” said Alachua County Animal Services Shelter Supervisor Jane Grantman. “Come and view these amazing works of art and the animals that inspired them.”

Pet adopters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals are current on rabies and license. All dogs and cats available for adoption are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before leaving Animal Services.
