The Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center’s Advisory Council is hosting its Second Annual Community Outreach Meeting on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Health Department’s Thomas Coward Auditorium (224 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville). The meeting is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

The outreach meeting will identify ways that Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center can address sexual assault and work to prevent the crimes from taking place. Meeting topics include addressing the stigma associated with sexual assault, building partnerships with community members, and implementing educational programs and events.

Project Coordinator Cassandra Moore said, “Identifying new ways to raise awareness and challenge myths about sexual assault is imperative to sustaining long-term change and preventing abuse. We invite the public to join this discussion.”
