The public is invited to a “Post Irma Town Hall Meeting” on October 2, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center (5701 N.W. 34th Blvd., Gainesville). The main purpose of the meeting is to hear from the public and to share ideas about how our community can better handle major storms in the future.
Speakers will include Alachua County Commission Chair Ken Cornell, Alachua County Sheriff Sadie Darnell, County Emergency Manager John Shaw, FEMA representatives, and representatives of the many inter-governmentally staffed Emergency Support Functions that responded to our local state of emergency.
