November Family and Consumer Sciences Program

First time home byer imageThe UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Family and Consumer Sciences program for November 2019. This program is being offered by Martha B. Maddox, County Extension Agent IV, at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville).

First Time Home Buyers Program - Part I & II – November 19, from noon, to 3 p.m. (Part I), and November 21, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Part II)

The First Time Home Buyers Program helps families achieve homeownership, build wealth, and contribute to stable, healthy communities. The class provides participants with a guide in the process of purchasing a home. Participants learn about SMART (Specific, Measurable, Adaptable, Realistic & Timely) goals, preparing a budget, and tracking expenses. The class covers strategies to save for financial goals, improving credit, and getting out of debt. The last part of the class addresses the process of buying, types of loans, and professionals involved in the process of buying. Participants that complete both Part I (November 19, 2019) & Part II (November 21, 2019) will receive a Certificate of Completion from UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County.

The registration fee is $15.00. Participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). There are no refunds for the registration fees.
