Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission Vacancies

Alachua County is seeking volunteers to fill two vacancies on the Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission. The two vacancies become available at the end of July. The Commission meets once a month usually on the third Wednesday at 6 p.m., in the County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

The Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission is responsible for making recommendations to the County Commission for updates to the comprehensive plan, reviewing and making recommendations on rezonings, special use permits and special exceptions, and land development regulations upon the request of the Board of County Commissioners.

The Commission is comprised of seven at-large members and one member appointed by the School Board serving four-year terms.
