Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale and Ag Fest

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale and Ag Fest on May 19, 2018, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville). Admission and parking are free. Prize drawings will be held throughout the morning.

The Plant Sale will have a variety of herbs, annuals, perennials, natives, trees and more grown by Master Gardeners. Visitors can choose from thousands of plants. Master Gardener volunteers will be on site for advice on selection and care of the plants. Rain barrels and composters will also be offered for sale. There is free parking and loading.

This annual plant sale is a fundraiser for the Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteer Program.  Proceeds support multiple community gardens including the Veterans Honor Garden, Cofrin SOS Park, 4-H youth camp scholarships and programs, and over a dozen local school gardens.

The Ag Fest will be providing information on beekeeping, UF/IFAS Bookstore, the Florida Department of Agriculture, the 4-H Youth Development Program, composting, rain barrels, the Food and Nutrition Program and more.
Presentations include Growing Herbs from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., and Cooking with Herbs from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
