ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - On April 23, 2009 Alachua County issued a press release, and shortly thereafter a corrected press release, regarding environmental conditions at the Phoenix Commercial Park. The County's corrected press release removed a statement contained in the original press release that had questioned the correctness of the Gainesville Sun’s description of the contamination status of the property.
The April 30, 2009 edition of the Gainesville Sun contained an advertisement paid for by the Phoenix Commercial Park, which referenced the original County press release instead of the corrected press release. Alachua County regrets that the corrected April 23rd press release did not specifically acknowledge the accuracy of the April 22nd Gainesville Sun article.
