ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the Jonesville Tennis Center is Saturday, May 9, 2009, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Alachua County Commissioner Lee Pinkoson will be in attendance and participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony. Jonesville Park is located at 3401 NW 143rd St./CR241 (NW 32nd Ave., and NW 143rd St.). The Park is approximately 1/2 mile south of the intersection of NW 39th Avenue and CR 241, or 1.7 miles north of Newberry Road.
The event will include: tours, beach tennis, "Quick Start" tennis, and carnival games. Refreshments will be served.
The Jonesville Tennis Center is the first public clay court facility in Alachua County. The tennis center is located within Jonesville Park, which already has soccer fields and will soon have baseball and softball fields.
