Foster Grandparent's "Rock-A-Thon"

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Foster Grandparent Program Advisory Council is hosting the thirteenth annual "Rock-A-Thon", on the front porch of the Cracker Barrel restaurant on Friday, May 15, 2009.  The Cracker Barrel is located at 4001 SW 43rd Street (Gainesville, west of I-75 on Archer Road).

The goal is to keep the rocking chairs rocking from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. and raise money. All proceeds go to the Foster Grandparent Program Advisory Council and help support training and recognition programs for the volunteers. Come visit the Foster Grandparents and celebrity rockers, including KTK's Storm Roberts and Chris Wells.

Foster Grandparents serve children who have special needs in local elementary schools, child care centers, and after school programs.

This event is sponsored by the Foster Grandparent Advisory Council, The Village, WKTK and WSKY, and Shands Senior Advantage.
