Description of Services:

Risk Management is responsible for providing and administering the County and Library District's insurance and benefit programs in a cost effective manner and in the best interest of the citizens and employees of Alachua County.

Programs administered include the following:

Risk Management:
Evaluates and manages all insured, self insured and benefit programs, loss control activities, and contract compliance in the most cost effective manner possible and in the best interest of the County.

Employee Benefits:
Administers all employee benefits including group health, life, dental, vision, deferred compensation, and cafeteria plans. Organizes and conducts employee wellness and fitness activities including an annual health fair, flu vaccinations, the Florida Trek program, and preventative care programs. Serves as liaison to the Florida Retirement System (FRS).

Safety and Loss Control:
Develops and coordinates all safety and loss control programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.
