Pothole Repair Update

Alachua County is providing its weekly update on pothole repairs and roadway resurfacing throughout the county. Public Works crews continue to use reports submitted through the online Pothole Portal to identify areas needing repairs and prioritize work.

Since the previous update, during the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 4, Public Works crews:

  • Repaired 1,465 potholes, using 51.69 tons of material.
  • Strip-milled and resurfaced 1,727 linear feet of roadway, using 70.82 tons of material.

Outside contractors have also begun work, strip-milling and resurfacing an additional 7,539.88 linear feet of roadway using 685.67 tons of material.

Strip milling and resurfacing remove damaged pavement in targeted areas and replace it with new asphalt. The county’s 4-foot-wide and contractor’s 6-foot-wide milling machines allow crews to repair damaged sections without resurfacing the entire roadway.

Alachua County will continue to provide weekly reports to keep residents informed about the progress being made. Updates will also be posted on the county’s website, social media channels and in the My Alachua County App.

Residents are encouraged to use the Pothole Portal to:

  • Pinpoint the location of a pothole on an interactive map.
  • Submit a report with or without creating an account.
  • Track pothole information through the county’s digital system.

Report a pothole.

Reports are automatically routed to the appropriate staff, helping Public Works prioritize repairs and allocate resources. The Pothole Portal replaces rbmaintenance@alachuacounty.gov as the preferred method for reporting potholes.
