June Environmental Horticulture Program

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture program for June 2023. Dr. Cynthia Nazario-Leary, Environmental Horticulture Agent and Master Gardener Volunteers, are offering this program.

Full Circle Gardening for Beginners: A Sustainable Approach to Growing Food – June 15, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Alachua County Ag Auditorium (22716 W. Newberry Road, Newberry)

This presentation explains full circle gardening as a sustainable way to minimize environmental impacts. The connections between full circle gardening and the Florida-Friendly Landscape™ program will be discussed, as each promotes sustainable practices for gardening. This entry-level presentation covers what full circle gardening is, why it is beneficial, and how to start a full circle garden.

There is no registration fee, but participants must register online. This program is limited to 100 participants.
