Due to the cooler weather in the current forecast, daytime lane closures will be required to complete the Tower Rd resurfacing project. Daytime lane closures will begin Thursday, December 6, 2018, from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and are expected to last through Saturday, December 8. Drivers should expect delays when traveling through the area and are encouraged to take alternative routes.
The remainder of the roadway that has not been resurfaced at this time will receive an additional layer of asphalt. Before placing the additional layer of asphalt, a crack relief layer will be placed (so that the existing roadway deformities will be less likely to reflect in the new surface). The crack relief layer cannot be placed in cooler weather, thus requiring the daytime lane closures.
