Hurricane Michael Update #1

Confidence is high in a northward track to the Florida Panhandle across southwest Georgia to central Georgia, Wednesday through Wednesday night. No warnings or watches are expected for Alachua County. The current forecast is for winds beginning around sunrise on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph until 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Alachua County is expected to receive approximately 1.6 inches of rainfall from the storm. These forecasts are subject to change and the County will continue to send updates as needed.

As of now, no decisions have been made regarding school closures and shelters.
