8-28-23 4:15 p.m. Tropical Storm Idalia Update- County Closures

​Due to the expected impacts of Tropical Storm Idalia, all Alachua County Offices (other than essential services), as well as the Alachua County Clerk of the Court and the court houses, the Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office, and the Alachua County Property Appraisers Office will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29. Offices will reopen when it is safe to do so. 

All Alachua County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The decision to reopen schools will depend on the impacts of the storm.

The 311 Emergency Information line is now activated. Call for the latest information and rumor control.

The Alachua County Ready website is live and is a good source for the latest storm information.

You can check the latest forecast at weather.gov/jax.

Please take the necessary precautions now to get you and your family ready. You should have your hurricane kits and plans in place.
