4-17-18 and 4-18-18 Comprehensive Plan Discussion Meetings

The Alachua County Commission is continuing the process of reviewing and updating the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan. The County Commission and Planning Commission have scheduled a series of meetings to discuss topic areas and issues, and to consider potential strategies for addressing those issues as part of the update of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. Both meetings are in the Jack Durrance Auditorium on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville).

Upcoming scheduled meetings include:

April 17, 2018 County Commission Special Meeting at 10 a.m.

Discussion topics include Public Facilities & Services such as transportation, fire protection, recreation, and solid waste, community health, and intergovernmental coordination.

Other items on this meeting agenda include the FY19 Budget Discussion - Jail Operations, and County Funding Source for Clean Water Partnership Agreement with the City of Gainesville and the Florida Department of Transportation.

April 18, 2018 Alachua County Planning Commission at 6 p.m.

Discussion topics include Natural Resources Protection, Public Facilities & Services, and Land Use and Development Standards.

The public is invited and encouraged to participate in updating the Comprehensive Plan by providing input at these upcoming meetings and/or sending comments to planning@alachuacounty.us.
