If you are interested in becoming a member of the Emergency Services community there are a number of steps needed to reach these goals. The first step is the desire to help others. The next step is one of the hardest if you do not know anybody in the service. Here is the point we would like to help. Alachua County Fire Rescue has assembled a team of active duty personnel who want to help those who have a desire to enter the career. These officers can provide a prospective member a wealth of knowledge about the career. These mentors have all volunteered for this program and stand ready to help. What does it take to start in a career in emergency  services?  The first thing you will need is certifications.      Minimum qualifications for an entry level position is  your Emergency Medical Technicians Certification and your professional Fire Standards.
