Alachua County Rural Collection and Hazardous Waste Collection Facilities Return to Normal Operations

Hazardous Waste Collection CenterEffective Monday, May 18, 2020, the Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (5125 N.E. 63rd Avenue, Gainesville) will re-open to the public and commercial customers. The Hazardous Waste Collection Facility accepts household chemicals, automotive fluids and batteries, paints, pesticides, old medicines/pharmaceuticals, electronic scrap (including TVs, monitors, computers), fluorescent lamps, and many other hazardous materials. The Hazardous Waste Collection Facility is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Effective Monday, May 18, 2020, the Rural Collection Centers will resume normal operations. Materials accepted at the Rural Collection Centers include household garbage (preferably in bags), recyclables, yard waste, and household hazardous waste. The load limit is one level truck bed per day of any combination of household garbage, yard waste, or any other acceptable item.
