Envision Alachua Sector Plan/Comprehensive Plan Amendment Public Hearing to Reconvene this Evening

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission will reconvene at 6 p.m. this evening (November 19, 2015) in the Jack Durrance Auditorium on the second floor of the County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville) to continue the public hearing on the Envision Alachua Sector Plan/Comprehensive Plan Amendment application submitted by Plum Creek.

The public hearing with the Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission began on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 6 p.m. The first County Commission public hearing is expected to begin as early as January, 2016.

On June 25, 2015, Alachua County received a revised Envision Alachua Sector Plan/Comprehensive Plan Amendment application requesting to amend policies and maps of the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan for 52,745 acres in eastern Alachua County owned by Plum Creek.

Staff has completed their review of the revised application. Staff considered environmental impacts, public infrastructure, provision of public services, suitability of the location and compatibility with the surrounding uses.
