November Livestock Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Livestock Programs for November, 2015. These programs are being offered by Dr. Cindy Sanders, Livestock Agent, at the facilities listed below.

Beef Cattle Palpation School – November 12-13, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the UF/IFAS Beef Teaching Unit (3301 SW 23 Terrace, Gainesville)

Topics include: reproduction basics, calving difficulty, breeding season management, palpation, and blood testing.

There is a $75.00 (includes lunch and supplies) registration fee. Class will be limited to the first 20 registrants. Participants must pre-register by Monday, November 2, by calling 352-955-2402.

Florida Fall Cattlemen’s Conference & Allied Trade Show – November 19, at 8 a.m., at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion (2232 NE Jacksonville Road, Ocala)

Some topics include: hay vs. round bale silage, fetal programming, bull selection, and basic herd health.

There is a $25.00 registration fee. Participants must pre-register by Friday, November 6. Registration is available on-line with additional fee.
