April Environmental Horticulture Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture Programs for April, 2015. These programs are being offered at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville) unless otherwise indicated.

Fruits for Alachua County – April 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. (presented by Aparna Gazula, Commercial Horticulture Agent)

This program shows techniques to successfully grow fruits such as persimmons, peaches, pomegranates, figs, grapes, and more.

Native Plants for Your Landscape for Earth Day – April 22, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (presented by Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteer)

This program teaches the correct use of native plants (putting the right plant in the right place).

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Pruning – April 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Tower Road Branch Library (3020 SW 75 Street, Gainesville). This program is presented by Wendy Wilber, Environmental Horticulture Agent.

This program explains techniques and timing for correct pruning and placing the right plant in the right place.

There is no cost to attend these classes, but space is limited. Pre-register at least 3 days prior to class by calling 352-337-6209 (voice mail).
