Solar Rights Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Growth Management is hosting a “Solar Rights Workshop” on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Jack Durrance Auditorium, located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville). The workshop is free, but registration is required.

The workshop is designed to educate residents, building officials, contractors, and community association mangers about solar access and their legal right to install rooftop solar systems. It will be led by Colleen Kettles from the Florida Solar Energy Center at the University of Central Florida. The workshop is the fourth in a series of workshops held around the State sponsored by the Go Solar Florida grant partners.

Alachua County, along with the cities of Gainesville and Newberry, are partnering with cities and counties around the state to promote the installation of rooftop solar systems by Florida residents and businesses.
