Help Paint the 34th Street Wall

34th Street WallThe Alachua County Community Support Services Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center (VSRCC) invites the community to participate in painting the 34th Street Wall (along S.W. 34th Street, between S.W. 2nd Avenue and Radio Road) on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 9am to noon. The subject of the painting is “Start by Believing” in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Participants will decorate around the wall with messages and quotes of support for survivors of sexual assault. The Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center will provide all painting supplies. Community members are welcome to bring other supplies or decorations to help spread support for survivors of sexual violence. This event is free.

“By painting the wall, Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center wishes to spread awareness about sexual violence,” said Community Ambassador Gabriella Eyler. “By showing our support, we hope that survivors realize that they have resources within the County to help them and we always Start by Believing.”
