- If you are planting yourself, refer to the provided suggested landscape design plans and pay attention to the spacing.
- Dig a hole that is twice the size of the potted plant. Pull the plant out of the pot and clip off the bottom of the roots, especially ones that are wound around in the circular pattern of the pot.
- Place the plant in the hole and make sure that it is not set below the ground surface, it is better to have plants slightly above the surface rather than below.
- Back fill the hole and compact the soil with your hands and then feet. Water the plant and fill in any holes that the water makes.

A few days before you begin digging up the existing landscape, call 811 and tell the operator where you plan to plant your SWAP landscape. They will send a locator to mark underground utilities within a few days, free of charge
