ACFR Loften Training Center

Welcome to the Alachua County Fire Rescue's, Loften Training Center. This facility represents a significant commitment of the members of our organization to improve not only the department but the community as a whole. This facility has been a cooperative venture from it's inception. The Center allows firefighters from Alachua County Fire Rescue and other departments within the community to have a facility to practice their firefighting skills in a controlled environment. The layout of the structure allows for multiple types of evolutions. Interior walls can be moved to constantly challenge our people. The use of steel shipping containers, allows us to produce fire conditions very similar to conditions our firefighters will face on real emergencies. The modular nature of the construction also allows boxes to be removed and replaced as they degrade due to heavy fire conditions. Construction of this facility has been ongoing for several years and major improvements are going to happen this year. All of the construction and fabrication has been the results of collaborative efforts.

Currently we are in the process of adding an external stairwell from the ground floor to the roof of the third floor. This construction will also include a fourth floor platform where high angle rescue training and roof operations can be safely conducted. Plans are currently being reviewed by the engineering firm and we hope to begin construction this Spring.
