ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Housing Programs Office has moved to the Alachua County Department of Community Support Services (218 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville). The office is no longer at the Alachua County Department of Growth Management.
The goal of the Alachua County Housing Programs is to preserve and expand the availability of safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for low to moderate income households. Funding is received from federal and state grants for housing programs such as down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, home repair and replacement, and rental assistance. Programs include State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Rehab and local Housing Finance Authority programs.
