New WIC Clinic in Gainesville

This press release put out at the request of the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County.

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Department of Health Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) in North Central Florida has a new clinic in SW Gainesville. This is WIC’s third clinic in Alachua County and is located within the newly renovated Southwest Health Clinic (816 S.W. 64th Terrace, Gainesville). Prospective and current clients may call to inquire about the program or schedule an appointment at the local number 352-225-4343 or the toll-free number 1-800-494-2543.

“The Alachua WIC Program provides nutrition screening, risk assessment, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding support and referrals to healthcare and other social services,” stated Diana Duque, Community Program Manager at the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County.  “We encourage those pregnant and mothers of children less than 5 years old to contact the WIC program for eligibility assistance.”
