April Family and Consumer Sciences Programs

canningALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Family and Consumer Sciences programs for April, 2015. These programs are being offered by Brenda C. Williams, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent (with Muriel Turner, Levy County Extension Agent).

Canning Workshop – April 14, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and repeated from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the UF/IFAS Extension Levy County Office (625 N. Hathaway Avenue, Alt 27, Bronson).

Canning Workshop - April 21, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and repeated from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Dixie County Public Library (16328 S.E. 19 Highway, Cross City).

Call 352-498-1219 to pre-register.

Basic information on canning foods using the steam pressure canner or boiling-water canner. Directions and tips will also be included on making jams, jellies and pickles.

There is no charge, and printed materials will be available for $3.00 per set.
