Alachua County Commission Changes Amendment Review Schedule For Comprehensive Plan

At the Board of County Commissioners' public hearing on Tuesday, February 7, the Board announced a change in their upcoming schedule for the review of amendments to the County Comprehensive Plan. The meeting, scheduled for February 23, has been changed to February 22 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Jack Durance Board Room in the County Administration Building, 12 SE 1st St., Gainesville. One item, CPA-14, a County initiated request to change the land use of a 25 acre parcel on the south side of Williston Road and the north edge of Paynes Prairie, has been withdrawn.

The Board agenda for the February 22 special meeting shall include one privately initiated request for a text amendment of the Comprehensive Plan to include additional review policies for large retail establishments, and six County initiated text amendments to the Comprehensive Plan to update current policies and include new policies that further implement Plan East Gainesville.
