State of the County 2006

Alachua County citizens are invited to tune in at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 10 to “The State of the County,” a special one hour edition of Alachua County Talks featuring Alachua County Commission Chairman Lee Pinkoson. Chair Pinkoson will be discussing the accomplishments and challenges of 2005 as well as looking ahead to the future. This is a valuable way for citizens to receive a good overview of the issues that affect the County. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Transportation
  • CHOICES Health Services
  • The Comprehensive Plan
  • Countywide Visioning and Planning
  • The Health and Human Services Master Plan
  • Poverty Reduction and Homelessness
  • Capital Projects
  • Alachua County Forever
  • Jail Alternatives
  • Parks and Recreation
  • And many others

The show will be rebroadcast at 12:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, and 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, and throughout the coming month.
