4:30 p.m.

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - It is anticipated complete restoration of the phone line which was cut and resulted in loss of phone usage (both landline and wireless) affecting 7,000 citizens will be repaired by 6:00pm per Windstream.

In the interim, for those who live in the High Springs community, you may be able to dial 911 from your landline phone.  Windstream has rerouted 911 for those within the High Springs community to ring into the High Springs Police Department.  Combined Communications Center Personnel have been sent to receive these calls for processing and dispatch of emergency personnel.  For those residents in the City of Alachua, Hague and La Crosse, the phone lines have been routed to reach our Combined Communications Center when dialing 911 from a landline.

However, if you dial 911 and do not reach emergency personnel, please respond to your nearest police or fire department for assistance.
