ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The community of Holly Heights/Gordon Manor is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a "Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway". This event will be held on Monday November 24, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holly Heights Sheriff's Office Substation located at 504 SW 67th Terrace, Unit D, Gainesville, FL 32607.

This idea was initiated by the Neighborhood Watch Committee members who are actively involved in organizing and executing community events for the residents in this neighborhood. Due to the initiative of Karen Quinn, Manager for Banta Properties, $1200.00 was donated by property owners to assist in bringing this event to fruition. Seventy Thanksgiving baskets which will include a turkey and side items for a bountiful Thanksgiving meal, will be distributed.

The "Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway" is sponsored by The Alachua County Department of Community Support Services, Partners For A Productive Community Program, and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
