ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Flags at Half-Staff Update: All flags should be raised on Sunday morning April 13, 2008. This is an update to the release below sent out earlier today.
Late last night, Alachua County received notification of the death of State Representative Don Davis. In that notification, Governor Crist asked state and local government agencies to join him in honoring State Representative Davis by lowering the United States and State of Florida flags to half-staff.
County Manager Randall H. Reid has directed that all flags on County buildings be immediately lowered in support of this honor. Flags should remain at half-staff until the date of interment. Once that date is determined, a second email will be sent out providing additional direction.
