Gov. Crist Proclaims Flags to Half-Staff

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - In accordance with a proclamation issued by Florida Governor Charlie Crist, all State and National flags will be flown at half-staff on Thursday, August 16, 2007 throughout Alachua County in honor of Specialist Christopher Todd Neiberger.  Specialist Neiberger lost his life while serving with the United States Army in Iraq on Monday August 6, 2007.   He was the son of Mary June Neiberger of the Alachua County Equal Opportunity Office and Dr. Richard Neiberger.  Specialist Neiberger  graduated from Gainesville High School in 2003. 

At 9 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, a military color guard will lower the State and National flags to half-staff on the lawn of the Alachua County Administration Building.

The State and National flags in the front of the State Capitol in Tallahassee will also be lowered to half-staff on August 16, 2007.
