ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department (EPD) invites residents, especially irrigation and lawn care professionals, to a public meeting to discuss a possible irrigation efficiency ordinance. The public meeting is on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alachua County Health Department (224 SE 24th Street, Gainesville).
EPD staff is researching potential code elements such as: including design standards (head to head spacing), registration requirements, maintenance activities, and an inspection program. The purpose of the possible ordinance is to conserve water in residential landscapes.
