SW 8th Ave Connector

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Public Works invites residents to attend an upcoming public workshop regarding the SW 8th Avenue connector, on March 20, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG) Family Resource Center located at 807 SW 64th Terrace, Gainesville.

SW 8th Avenue currently does not connect from Tower Road to SW 20th Avenue.  The proposed project will be to construct the roadway from Tower Road to SW 20th Avenue and through the Hidden Oaks Park, with sidewalks on either side of the roadway.  The proposed design includes traditional neighborhood design with center medians and parking near the SWAG center.

The 8th Avenue connector was brought to the Board of County Commissioners in January 2014, for discussion of the design elements and this public workshop is a follow up to the Board action taken at the January 28, 2014 Board meeting.
