4-H Spring Garden Project to be Held this Thursday

The Alachua County 4-H Spring Garden project begins this Thursday, February 15th. This workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Office. This garden project is for youth ages 8-18.  The workshop fee is $3.00 for seeds.  At this workshop, youth will learn how to start a 10 X 12' garden with the 6 different types of seeds provided.  A Gardening Guide will also be provided. 
 
Youth can exhibit their produce and other gardening related exhibits at the Spring Garden Fair on June 2nd and can win ribbons and prizes. 4-H is free to join for youth ages 5-18.  Membership is open to all youth regardless of race, creed, color, sex, national origin, handicap or geographic location within Alachua County.
