ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct their Regular Meeting/Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. The Regular Meeting begins at 9 a.m. and the Public Hearing begins at 5 p.m. Both meetings are in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street, downtown Gainesville.

Items of interest at the Regular Meeting include:

11. 2014 Proposed Calendar for upcoming Board of County Commission Meetings

12. Support the Florida Water and Land Conservation Amendment to the State Constitution.

13. Landscape Irrigation Standards for Water Conservation

14. SW 30th Ave Overpass Bridge Maintenance Responsibilities Acceptance

15. GREC Biomass Plant Update: An informational update to the Board regarding noise and dust issues related to the new GREC biomass plant

Items of interest at the Public Hearing include:

23. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Hearing  

Public Hearing zoning and land use items include: (If you know citizens who live near these projects, please share this press release.)

24. ZOM-11-13: A request to rezone from Agriculture (A) to Single-Family Residential (R-1C) on parcel south of Dogwood Park.

25. ZOS-04-13. A request for a special use permit to allow a 170 foot unipole personal wireless service facility at 8105 NW 23rd Avenue (parcel number 06318-000-000) on the site of the United Pentecostal Church.
