ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct their Regular Meeting/Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. The Regular Meeting begins at 9 a.m. and the Public Hearing begins at 5 p.m. Both meetings are in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street, downtown Gainesville.

Items of interest at the Regular Meeting include:

12. 2012 Tax Roll Discounts, Errors, Double Assessments and Insolvencies

13. County Manager's Contract - Betty M. Baker

15. Update on negotiations between Alachua County and National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) for use of the Gainesville Raceway property for the new County fairgrounds

16. FY14 Tentative Budget presentation

17. Procurement process to hire a tenant broker or real estate consultant to find an appropriate site for the Supervisor of Elections operation

18. Energy reduction and water conservation at County's Administration Building presentation

19. Acceptance of four energy rebate checks from Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU)

20. Create Facilities Management Department

21. SW 8th Avenue Extension Agreement with Town of Tioga LLC

29. CPA-01-13: A request by Craig Brashier of Causseaux, Hewett and Walpole, Inc., agent for William and Marilyn Deas, owners, for a large scale Comprehensive Plan amendment to establish the Agricultural Enclave future land use designation and its required standards, in Section 7, Implementation, of the Future Land Use Element in accordance with the requirements of section 163.3162(4), Florida Statutes, and to change the Future Land Use designation of approximately 136 acres from Rural/Agriculture (1 unit/5 acres) to the new Agricultural Enclave designation (assigning a density specific to the site of 0.8 units/acre in the proposed text), located southeast of the SW Archer Road (SR 24) / SW 107th Street intersection on Tax Parcel Numbers 07075-001-000, 07076-000-000, 07077-000-000 and 07093-000-000.  Please contact the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 374-5249 or Holly Banner at hbanner@alachuacounty.us for further information.  

30. Public Hearing to Consider Proposed Changes to Unified Land Development Code Chapter 407, Article 7, Traditional Neighborhood Development and Transit Oriented Developments: A public hearing to consider a request to make changes to the Unified Land Development Code in Chapter 407, Article 7, Traditional Neighborhood and Transit Oriented Development that would allow more flexibility in building, block and parking design and would allow credit for required tree mitigation for canopy preserved above the required 5% canopy retention for TNDs and TODs, proposed by Jonathan Paul, NUE Urban Concepts, for SHD Development, LLC.  Please contact the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 374-5249 or Missy Daniels at mdaniels@alachuacounty.us for further information.

31. Caraway Subdivision – Replat of Lot 9: A public hearing to consider a Replat to correct an existing building encroachment - located at 2888 NW 144th Terrace.  Please contact the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 374-5249 or Rick Wolf at rew@alachuacounty.us for further information.

32. CPA-02-13: A public hearing for a small-scale comprehensive plan Future Land Use Map amendment at 5902 SE Hawthorne Rd. 33. Celebration Pointe Transit Oriented Development Revised Preliminary Development Plan: A public hearing to consider a Revised Preliminary Development Plan to add 2.2 acres and revise the phased preliminary development plan consisting of up to 2,225 residential units and 896,000 square feet of non-residential development, located at 3510 SW 45th Street (North of Archer Road and West of I-75).  Please contact the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 374-5249 or Christine Berish at cberish@alachuacounty.us for further information.
