ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is hosting a communitywide Transportation Summit on April 10, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Gainesville/Alachua County Senior Recreation Center (5701 N.W. 34th Street, Gainesville).

The summit is an opportunity for the County to receive public input on the future of the County’s transportation system, what that system will look like, and the steps needed to achieve an effective and efficient system.

The summit will be led by a neutral professional facilitator. It will begin with a brief overview by Alachua County staff on transportation needs, costs, funding options, and ongoing planning. This will be followed by public input, which the facilitator will review and summarize at the close of the summit.

Since time for public comment is limited, the public will also be able to provide input on comment cards and/or on an online survey that will be posted on the County website. The Board urges citizens to lend their voices to this important conversation.

For more information, contact Alachua County Transportation Planning Manager, Jeff Hays at 352-264-6971 or jhays@alachuacounty.us.
