ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Extension Office and the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department are pleased to announce the following hands-on “Water Wise Landscaping FUNshop.” This program will be held at the Alachua County Extension Office (2800 NE 39th Ave, Gainesville) on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will conclude with pizza and salad from Satchels Pizza and a water trivia game (prizes will be awarded). The registration fee is $10.00 (includes lunch).
Participants will be broken into small groups and rotated through four stations:
· Learn to make a rain barrel (they can be purchased at the event for $50)
· Hands-on Micro-irrigation
· Florida Friendly Landscaping Tour
· Hand-on automatic irrigation system
