ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Zoning item ZOX-02-11, a request for a special exception for an Internet Café at 7750 West Newberry Road (formerly housing the Pizza Vito Restaurant), has been withdrawn by the applicant, Allied Veterans of the World, Inc. This item was on the evening agenda of the Board of County Commissioners for September 27, 2011 but was scheduled for deferral due to final budget hearings also on the agenda that evening.
The Alachua County Office of Growth Management subsequently received a letter (dated September 21, 2011) from the applicant’s agent asking that the item be withdrawn. No reason was stated in the letter as to why the request for withdrawal is being made at this time. The Alachua County Commission will take formal action on the request to withdraw the application at its September 27, 2011 meeting at 5 p.m.
