The Local Team plans public meetings with citizens and the City of Gainesville and Alachua County Commissions to receive input and prepare comments to USEPA on the Proposed Plan. The dates for these meetings have not been set.
“The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department will continue to work in coordination with the City of Gainesville and other members of the local team to review and provide comments to USEPA on the Proposed Plan,” said Chris Bird, Alachua County Environmental Protection Director,” We will be looking for ways to improve the plan based on concerns and comments we receive from our technical team, the public and our local elected officials. Our comments will be oriented to improving the protection to our drinking water, protecting adjacent neighborhoods, and meeting local expectations for the future use of the site.”
