Community Center Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Alachua County will be holding a neighborhood workshop to discuss the Community Center at Kanapaha Park, on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tower Road Branch of the Alachua County Public Library  at 3020 SW 75th Street Gainesville. 

Representatives of the County’s facilities and parks divisions, the architectural firm, and the construction company will be presenting program and design elements of the center as well as seeking input from citizens

The community center at Kanapaha Park will be approximately 8500 sq ft and consist of restrooms, concession/kitchen facilities, open meeting space, smaller separate meeting rooms, and office space.  The community center will be constructed as a green building per Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

A second neighborhood workshop meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tower Road Branch of the Alachua County Public Library.
